What Makes Our Automatic Covers Different?
Electric pool covers are a great solution, but once you dive into the world of automatic swimming pool covers for inground pools, you’ll likely uncover that electric pool covers aren’t exactly what they’re cracked up to be, and pool owners often look to expensive built-in covers for a solution.
This is because most electric cover reels and rollers that are labeled “automatic” simply mean that the reel will rotate automatically in either direction. However, the motorized rotation of the reel alone cannot cover and uncover the pool on its own. Without manual pulling, the pool cover will likely fall off the reel/roller and into a pile in front of cover system. Automatic pool covers with more sophisticated technology which are actually automatic, rely on tracks and cables or pulley systems to get the cover on and off the pool. These automatic cover systems use tracks or “guides” that are permanently mounted to either side of the pool and must be diligently maintained to prevent jamming and ensure smooth operation each time.
